Mourinho reveals if there have been talks over second loan season for Gareth Bale at Spurs

Jose Mourinho has now revealed that there have been no discussions between Tottenham, Real Madrid and Gareth Bale over whether the Welshman will spend a second season on loan at the North London club (Jonathan Veal).

Spurs secured a one-season loan for the Real Madrid winger last summer, however, the former Tottenham superstar is yet to break into the starting XI with any consistency.

In fact, the Welshman has made just one start in the Premier League since re-joining Tottenham, with most of his minutes coming in the Europa League and cup competitions.

Eurosport reported recently that Tottenham would like to extend the Bale loan beyond the current season. The same report added that Madrid were hopeful of selling Bale permanently at the end of the season in order to save money on wages.

Spanish publication Okdiario also reported that Real Madrid fear that Spurs will not look to take Bale back next season and the winger will instead return to Spain.

In his press conference today, Mourinho claimed there has been ‘not one second’ of discussions over a second season loan for Bale (Jonathan Veal).

He also added that he is unsure whether the on-loan Madrid man will start on Sunday against Sheffield United (Alasdair Gold).
