Mourinho reveals injury and timescale for Spurs starlet Dane Scarlett

Jose Mourinho has revealed that Dane Scarlett picked up an injury in a recent Spurs youth match and will now face a spell on the sidelines (Alasdair Gold).

Fortunately, the Spurs boss claimed that Scarlett will likely only be out for a couple of weeks so hopefully the injury will not dent his development too much.

In a silver lining to the injury news for Scarlett, Mourinho also claimed that he now sees the teenager as a member of the first-team squad at Tottenham.

It has been somewhat of a breakthrough season for the youngster, despite not getting too many minutes on the pitch and being just 16 at the start of the campaign.

Scarlett made his Tottenham debut in the Europa League when he came off the bench against Ludogorets. He then made his Premier League debut when coming off the bench against West Brom.

So far this season, across all age ranges, Scarlett has played 23 games, scored 22 goals and assisted another five (TransferMarkt).

Mourinho said: “Dane Scarlett, who I consider part of the first-team squad, got injured in the youth team match and will be out for a couple of weeks.”
