Mourinho reveals what Reguilon has told him about seeing a change in Gareth Bale

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been well used to seeing their star players jet off to Madrid over the past decade, with both Luka Modric and Gareth Bale making the move.

However, the tables turned this summer as the Lilywhites signed Sergio Reguilon on a permanent deal and Gareth Bale on loan from Los Blancos.

After seven years away, Bale has finally returned to his old stomping ground and looks to be in high spirits around Hotspur Way ahead of his second debut.

Bale’s final years in Spain were far from ideal as the Welshman was largely frozen out by manager, Zinedine Zidane and his relationship with the fans turned sour (Standard).

However, Gareth’s teammate at both Madrid and Spurs, Reguilon, has apparently revealed that the winger looks like a different man in North London.

In his press conference today, Mourinho revealed that Reguilon told him of the difference seen in Bale since the summer move.

He said (Alasdair Gold): “We are all happy with that. It was great to hear from Sergio Reguilon, who was in the dressing room with him in Madrid, that Gareth looks like a different guy. If he can go home and share that happiness with his family that’s great.”
