Tottenham Hotspur completed their third winter signing this week as the welcomed Steven Bergwijn into Hotspur Way from PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Bergwijn claimed three Eredivisie titles with the club during his time there and even played against Spurs in the group stages of last year’s Champions League.
The BBC report that Spurs paid £27m for the winger this transfer window, as Bergwijn signed a contract until 2025 with the Lilywhites.
He joins other incoming January signings Gedson Fernandes, who joined on an 18-month loan from Benfica, and Giovani Lo Celso, who Spurs made a permanent signing after a six-month loan spell from Real Betis.
Despite the fact that Bergwijn has only been at the club for a couple of days, Mourinho has already revealed that he will be involved against Man City on Sunday.
The Spurs manager said it would be ideal to give him more time, but Bergwijn is match fit already.
Charlie Eccleshare reports Mourinho said:
On Bergwijn: He will be involved [against City]. The perfect time would be to give him more time, but he has match fitness. It’s just about learning with us.
