Mourinho reveals when he will offer update on Harry Kane injury

Jose Mourinho revealed in his post-match press conference after Tottenham’s 2-2 draw against Everton that the club are likely to reveal details on the extent of Harry Kane’s injury on Tuesday.

It was once again Kane who saved Tottenham from falling to another defeat as he took his two goals brilliantly and almost netted a hat-trick with a well-placed looping header that came off the woodwork.

Spurs fans would have held their collective breaths when they saw the striker coming off with an ankle injury in the dying stages of the game, which has now put his availability for the all-important Carabao Cup final in doubt.

The North Londoners’ failure to come away with all three points from Goodison Park has served to further dent any hopes they had of making up ground on the top four.

The final against City next weekend now represents their best chance of salvaging some pride on the back of a disappointing campaign but being without Kane for the clash would serve as a body blow to Tottenham’s chances.

When asked for an update on Kane’s condition, Mourinho told Football.London: “I don’t know much. I don’t have much to say. I don’t want to feed any speculation, I don’t want to be stupidly optimistic of saying nothing.

“Something, that something is going to stop him play the next match or final I don’t know. In this moment I don’t know. I don’t even think he knows.

“I believe that tomorrow we will see a reaction, have more details, diagnosis and then probably in the press conference before Southampton I believe that Tuesday is the right moment to inform you about Harry.”

Everyone associate with Spurs certainly faces a nervous few days ahead of the club’s update regarding Kane. It does not look like the injury is a major one but the fact that it has happened just a week before the final does not bode well to his chances of being fit for the clash.
