Mourinho reveals when Reguilon could appear for Spurs – Opens up on Bale recovery

Tottenham Hotspur finally announced the signings of Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale on Saturday, with many fans now questioning when they will get to see the players in action.

It has been reported that Gareth Bale currently has an injury that will keep him out for around a month, not to mention the time he will need to regain fitness and sharpness.

However, Jose Mourinho has revealed the Sergio Reguilon is in much better condition, with the left-back having impressed in both La Liga and the Europa League with Sevilla last season.

The Spurs head coach told the press today that Reguilon’s return will likely be quick, earmarking him for availability by the end of this week.

On the other hand, while Mourinho was unsure as to when Bale would make his second Spurs debut, he did claim that the club are hoping to shorten his recovery time.

He also outlined his plan to get Gareth back to the level that made him one of the best in the world.

Mourinho said (Football London): “You ask me about Sergio and I think Sergio will be quite quick. He is in the best period of his recovery,” said the Spurs boss.

“He’s training today (on Sunday while Spurs played at Southampton) with one of my assistants. He cannot play on Tuesday but I would say he will be available for us maybe for the end of the week.

“I don’t know when Gareth can be back. The only thing I know is that his motivation is high.

“He’s so happy to be with the club of his heart, he’s so happy to play for us. And when a player has this motivation, many times you can shorten the period of recovery, you can shorten the period of getting fit and ready to play.

“We want to help him so when he’s available to train with the team, we’re more than happy to have him and help him back to a level that made him one of the best players in the world.”
