Mourinho spouts injury analogy and says Spurs will adopt different style without Son

Jose Mourinho loves his press conference analogies and today was no different as the Spurs head coach reacted to the news that Heung Min Son will undergo surgery.

The South Korean fractured his arm in the early stages against Aston Villa, only to pick himself off and run through the pain to score two and win Spurs the game.

However, it looks as if the South Korean will not be achieving such a feat for a while now, as the club predict he will be out for multiple weeks. Mourinho himself is less optimistic, as he claims he doubts he will be counting on Sonny again this season.

Mourinho has already had to adapt to a new style of play without Harry Kane up front and now it seems as if he will have to work his magic again.

The Special One admitted that a new style would be needed without Son.

He said (Football London): “Yes [has to be a different style]. If I don’t say something strong you’re going to ask the same questions. You know I like analogies. Sometimes I do good ones and sometimes silly ones. This time I do this. When we arrived we were in minus 12 floor, we got on the stairs and we started climbing. But immediately the stairs broke and trouble. We were trying to find a way. Lots of effort but we were going and going. Then 11th floor and when we arrived on the fourth floor, where we wanted to arrive, someone took the stairs away so we are now in trouble. We are holding by our arms on the balcony.”
