Mourinho updates on Troy Parrott contract, loan prospect, and if he will play in FA Cup

It has already been a dream season in the life of young Troy Parrott, even if his minutes on the pitch have been restricted at Tottenham.

The youngster was welcomed on the pre-season tour of Asia, even starting in some big matches against the likes of Juventus, where he impressed.

He was then named in the club’s Champions League squad and made his full debut against Colchester United in the League Cup, He later went on to make his Premier League debut too.

Not only this, but Parrott has impressed on the international stage, scoring three in two games for the Republic of Ireland U21 side, before being called up to the senior team.

Jose Mourinho has now hinted that he could make an FA Cup debut against Middlesborough this weekend.

However, he adds that he does not think a loan spell away from Spurs would be good for Parrott, even though it is too soon for him to play as Kane’s understudy/replacement.

He says the next step is for Parrott to sign a long-term contract.
