Mourinho’s close friend delivers verdict on Eriksen’s future at Tottenham

Christian Eriksen is highly likely to leave Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season according to a close friend of Jose Mourinho’s.

The 27-year-old will be out of contract in North London next summer and has already previously stated his desire to seek a new challenge away from Spurs along with admitting that he would be interested in receiving contact from Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

The Telegraph reported earlier this month that the Dane would reject any offers to sign a new contract with the Champions League finalists and instead walk away as a free agent.

The January transfer window represents the last opportunity for Spurs to try and cash in on the former Ajax playmaker.

Juventus and Inter Milan are both said to be potential destinations for Eriksen, who would be able to negotiate a lucrative deal with no transfer fee involved.

Eladio Parames, who The Sun claim he has known since Mourinho was a child and previously worked together during their time at Benfica gave his verdict on Eriksen’s future.

He told Portuguese news outlet Record as quoted by The Sun: “Perhaps it is possible to see the magic potion that Mourinho invented to positively manage the last months of Eriksen’s presence.

“The zero-cost exit is practically certain – for the benefit of the collective.”
