Moussa Sissoko admits he needs to improve one area of his game

In a slightly tongue in cheek interview for the club’s website, Spurs midfielder Moussa Sissoko has admitted that he needs to improve his form in attacking areas.

Jan Vertonghen quizzed the Frenchman on his goal output and Sissoko gave a very honest reply to the question.

Vertonghen asked: “I can think of a few! How about – when is Moussa going to score more than one goal a season?”

Sissoko replied “I’m not surprised with this question. Having said that, it’s true and I should score more goals. Now, maybe I’ve changed my position a bit, a little deeper. I’ve had chances and should do better, but the most important thing is that we play well as a team and win. I think myself and Jan should have a challenge – see who scores the most goals.”

The 30-year-old enjoyed had his best season in a Spurs shirt during the last campaign when operating mainly as a box to box central midfielder, rather than on the right like in previous seasons (TalkSport).

Spurs Web Opinion

Sissoko has become a bit of a cult hero at Tottenham. He was hated by most fans after having a woeful first two seasons which did nothing to justify his twenty million pound price tag. However last season he was crucial for Spurs, especially when they lacked depth in central midfield after the sale of Mousa Dembele in January. Seeing a few more goals from Sissoko would be nice. However, as long as he keeps his form from last season, i don’t think many Tottenham fans will mind his limited presence in attack.
