Moussa Sissoko responds to fan telling him he is a Tottenham legend

Moussa Sissoko has claimed that he is not sure whether he is a Tottenham Hotspur legend, after being quizzed on the matter on his Instagram story.

Sissoko, 31, joined Spurs from Newcastle United and spent five years in North London before departing for fellow Premier League side Watford over the summer.

He initially struggled to cement a place in the starting line-up under Mauricio Pochettino, but eventually found himself playing regularly in the side as an option in central midfield.

Sissoko accumulated 202 appearances in total for Spurs, with his best period coming during the club’s stunning run to the Champions League final in 2019.

The Frenchman is currently experiencing some downtime from competitive action during the international break and has been responding to messages from his followers on social media.

One statement said: “You are a legend at Spurs”, but Sissoko gave his honest response, saying: “I don’t know if I am but thank you.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It has been a circulated joke that Sissoko has been one of the greatest players to ever play for Spurs. He had some good moments in Lilywhite, but I’m not so sure that they really get close to being at that legendary status. It is all in good fun, though.
