Moussa Sissoko says he wants this star to sign for Spurs in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur endured a two window hiatus from transfers over the past season, as they haven’t added to their squad in over 15 months.

Lucas Moura is still the resident Spurs new boy in North London, despite the fact he signed way back in January 2018.

Unsurprisingly, Tottenham have been linked to a number of players in recent weeks now that the summer transfer window is open, and surely Levy can’t go much longer without indulging Pochettino with some money to spend.

It is uncommon for a current player to come out and say they want their club to sign a certain star, but that is exactly what Moussa Sissoko did this week.

When appearing on Canal Football Club in France, Sissoko suggested that he would like Lille star Nicolas Pepe to join him in North London (quoted by Le10 Sport), a player who has previously been linked with Spurs (Times).

However, The Mirror recently reported that Man United are willing to offer up to £45m for the star who registered a staggering 23 goals and 12 assists in just 40 games this season.

When asked about Pepe’s next club, Sissoko said: “I think he has the qualities for England. He has already demonstrated his full potential with Angers, this year he confirmed it with Lille, what he does is really exceptional. I do not know where he’ll go, but I wish him the best in his future club, and if it’s in England, why not Tottenham?”

Spurs Web Opinion:

After the season Sissoko has had, I say give the man whatever he wants. In all seriousness though, Nicolas Pepe has looked a real prospect for two seasons now, scoring loads of goals and bagging assists in France’s top League. He even helped fire Lille to a Champions League spot with over a goal involvement per game this season. In terms of wingers, Spurs have also been linked to Zaha and Malcom, but I would certainly prefer Pepe over those two.
