Spurs will have to pay £30m+ clause for Moutinho

If Andre Villas-Boas wants to bring Joao Moutinho to Tottenham then it looks as if he will have to spend the best part of £30million to land his man.

Moutinho has been mooted as a possible replacement for Luka Modric who, let’s face it has one foot already out of the White Hart Lane exit and it’s just a matter of time before something is announced.

Moutinho’s current club Porto are keen to hold onto the midfielder who impressed during Euro 2012 for Portugal and are claiming that only a trigger of just over £30million in the 25-year-old’s contract will persuade them to sell.

AVB is a big fan of Moutinho and the player himself is known to be keen to link up with his former boss. Speculation from around the forums claims that AVB wants all his signings done and dusted before our pre-season tour to America later this month.

Porto coach Vitor Pereira told Abola: “We very much want him to stay and we are not looking to sell,”

“But this is football and you have termination clauses, for us he has been great and helped us achieve the results we have.”
