Some Tottenham fans on social media were pleased with the attacking impetus that Spurs showed this afternoon as they put in a solid display to overcome West Brom 2-0.
After suffering three defeats in a row in the Premier League, it was vitally important for Tottenham to get back to winning ways.
The starting eleven named by Jose Mourinho reflected the importance of getting three points as the Spurs boss opted to name a much more attacking line up than he has tended to in the past few months.
Harry Kane returned to the line up after recovering from his injury and got on the scoresheet with a typically clinical finish at the start of the second half before Son Heung-min doubled Tottenham’s lead just minutes later.
Some Spurs fans admitted that the team was a lot more fluid in attack than they have been recently and stated that they would like to see Mourinho stick with a 4-2-3-1 formation.

I think the team that started works for us, not sure on Ndombele in that deeper role but the pressing from moura, Lamela and son helped us hugely! Other teams will leave bigger gaps, time to stick with a side and i know it’s WBA but it looked fluid up top! #COYS

Better.
Moura and Lamela adding much needed impetus.
Kane’s dusted himself off a bit and Son better with Kane.
Time to get a bit of momentum now and beat Everton Wednesday.— ᴅᴀᴠɪᴅ ᴇʟʟɪs • (@fullback03) February 7, 2021
That was sufficient. Up the spurs.

3 points and clean sheet. Damn I forgot how good this feels 🥺

That’s more like it! Although WBA’s approach made it pretty much *impossible* to sit back and not take the game to them. Kane being back obviously has a huge influence but I thought we looked much more confident on the ball, which is nice to see again. #COYS

Much better tempo and desire! Much needed points today

Enjoyed the way we set up from the off today – really should have scored more.
We just need to be consistent in setting up in this way against teams we’re clearly better than instead of allowing them to dictate the play.
Today proved we have the quality to win and to win well.

Spurs Web Opinion
The win was a much-needed one as the players looked completely lacking in confidence against Chelsea. Hopefully, this should give the side some momentum to build on and go on a good run. This performance should convince Jose to be a bit braver than he has been so far this season as most of our chances came as a result of pressing high up the pitch.
