Multiple journalists reveal where Spurs’ Ryan Sessegnon is going on loan and why

Multiple journalists have reported today that Ryan Sessegnon is set to join Hoffenheim on loan for the duration of the 2020/21 season.

This comes after the Spurs youngster has found it extremely difficult to break into the side under Jose Mourinho since the Special One arrived in North London.

Sessegnon featured just 12 times for Tottenham last season, with only six of those coming in the Premier League (TransferMarkt).

David Ornstein reported today that Spurs and Hoffenheim had reached an agreement on the loan transfer of Sessegnon, but there is no option to buy. Many clubs apparently wanted such a clause in any loan deal, but Spurs refused to sell.

The Athletic journalist added that Sessegnon will undergo his medical and complete the transfer tomorrow morning.

Alasdair Gold has reported that Hoffenheim were selected to win the race for Sessegnon as Mourinho was keen on the youngster to play at left-back or left-wing-back this season. Hoffenheim use wing-backs in their current system, making them a great fit.
