Multiple Portuguese outlets are now reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to return with an improved offer for Pedro Porro this week.
After weeks of deadlock, there finally appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel regarding Spurs’ pursuit of Porro.
The Daily Mail reported on Sunday that Sporting Lisbon are prepared to relax their stance on the right-back and could accept £30m plus add-ons from the North London club for the 23-year-old.
This was followed up by an update from Fabrizio Romano this morning, with the journalist stating that Spurs are set for a new round of talks for Porro and are prepared to offer €37m (£32.4m) plus add-ons from the player.
The print editions of A Bola and O Jogo (23/01/23 as relayed by Sport Witness) have become the latest outlets to report on Tottenham’s advances for the Spaniard.
The former claim that despite seeing their earlier offer rejected, Spurs are now ‘preparing’ a ‘new approach’ by offering more money for Porro. The latter states something quite similar, claiming that Antonio Conte’s men are ready to ‘insist’ on the right-back with an ‘improved offer’.

It looks like the negotiations for Porro are finally gathering steam and we could have a potential breakthrough within the next couple of days. By the sound of it, it seems like Sporting are expected to agree on a fee that falls below the 23-year-old’s release clause.
