Multiple reports claim Paratici could target ex-Chelsea man as Kane replacement

The print editions of both AS and Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) have claimed that Tottenham could pursue Alvaro Morata as Harry Kane’s replacement should the England captain leave next summer.

Tottenham’s interest in Morata, who is currently on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid, was first put forward by Calciomercato earlier this month.

The report claimed that the Spanish international has ‘become one of the first market objectives of Tottenham’ since the North London club face the prospect of losing Kane next summer.

AS have now revealed that Dusan Vlahovic’s decision not to sign a new contract at Fiorentina has impacted Morata, with Juve now wanting to bring in the Serbian.

It is suggested that the Old Lady may decide not to sign the Spaniard permanently and Spurs could thus become an ‘unexpected avenue’ for the 28-year-old.

The report adds that ‘Paratici would be thinking’ of Morata to replace Kane, suggesting that the North London club could offer €35m (£29.5m) for the former Chelsea man.

Meanwhile, Sport claim that Tottenham ‘appear as a possible lifeguard for Morata’, with the striker’s future at Turin now looking ‘very uncertain’ as Juve have other plans.

Spurs Web Opinion

If we are to lose Kane next summer, one would expect Paratici and co to bring in a bigger name than Morata to replace the England captain. Someone like Vlahovic would certainly represent better value for money even though he would be more expensive than Morata.
