Multiple reports claim Tottenham man is ‘closer than ever’ to completing exit

Sport Witness have relayed reports from the print editions of Mundo Deportivo and Marca (23/08/22), with both publications indicating it is only a matter of time before Bryan Gil seals a return to Valencia.

Mundo Deportivo claim the Tottenham winger is now ‘closer than ever’ to returning to Valencia, with the negotiations between the La Liga club and Spurs said to be ‘complete’.

The report adds that ‘only a few details’ need to be ironed out before the youngster replaces Goncalo Guedes at the Mestalla.

Mundo Deportivo assert that Valencia’s attempts to include an option to buy in the deal have been unsuccessful, with Gil set to return to Spurs next summer.

Marca also report that an agreement between Los Che and Antonio Conte’s men ‘seems to be close’

However, the publication contradicts Mundo’s claim regarding the nature of Gil’s move, claiming that Gennaro Gattuso’s side are still negotiating the inclusion of an option to buy in the loan deal.

I do not think Spurs would be willing to include an option to buy in Gil’s loan deal. Even if the 21-year-old is not in Antonio Conte’s plans, his value is only likely to rise over the next year or two. So, Spurs might be able to recoup or even make a profit on the fee they paid for the former Sevilla man last summer.
