Multiple sources install Serie A club as favourites to sign Spurs defender

Eurosport and Calcio Mercato have both installed AC Milan as the front-runners for the signature of Serge Aurier this summer.

Aurier started the season well but has been inconsistent since the turn of the year, with the right-back rumoured to have had issues with Jose Mourinho.

The Ivorian has started all four matches since Ryan Mason replaced Mourinho as interim boss. However, reports indicate that Tottenham have decided to cash in on the former Paris Saint-Germain defender when the transfer window opens.

RMC Sport have claimed that Spurs are willing to accept just €10m (£8.5m) for the right-back, who has just 12 months left to run on his contract.

The report suggested that a return to PSG was on the cards for the Tottenham defender while AC Milan and Atletico Madrid were also interested.

Eurosport now claim that Milan is the most likely destination for Aurier this summer, with the Serie A club identifying the 28-year-old as the man to bolster their backline.

Calcio Mercato claim that Milan are have been in contact with Aurier’s agent, who has informed them of his desire to leave Spurs.
