‘My daughter is probably stronger’ – Roy Keane blasts reported Spurs target

Former Manchester United man, Roy Keane, has torn into Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana, who is rumoured to be a target for Tottenham in the summer.

The Daily Mail reported at the start of the month that Lallana will not be extending his stay at Anfield after his contract with Liverpool runs out in June and that Spurs are considering making an offer to the midfielder’s representatives at the end of the season.

The report also credited Spurs’ North London rivals, Arsenal, with interest in the 31-year-old, while Leicester City (Sky Sports) and Southampton (The Express) are also said to be keen on landing the Reds star.

Roy Keane made no secret of the fact that he is not a fan of the Liverpool midfielder during Sky Sports’ Super Sunday broadcast (Main Event – 08/03/20 at 16:30 onwards).

He ripped into Lallana for his poor showing in Liverpool’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup last Wednesday.

Speaking about the game, Keane told Sky Sports: “I think Lallana was a midfielder for Liverpool that night [against Chelsea] and I think my daughter is probably stronger than him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I personally believe Lallana is a tidy player and can be an excellent option to have for many clubs. Given how little football he has played recently, it wasn’t surprising to see him put in such a rusty display last Wednesday. As much as I rate him, I don’t think he will be the right signing for us given his age and the fact that we are in more urgent need for additions in other areas.
