The summer transfer is now well underway, but Pochettino and Levy and yet to dip into their pockets for a senior signing. In fact, Lucas Moura is still the club’s most recent acquisition, despite joining way back in January 2018.

So, what would a successful transfer window look like for Spurs? Everyone has their own opinion over what Tottenham need, but here is my personal dream window:

I think Spurs need to invest in some world-class, up-and-coming, young players this transfer window in order to improve both the starting XI and the depth of the squad. I also think there is a lot of deadwood Pochettino could now trim from the squad.

  2. Ryan Sessegnon – £20m ???

I’d be happy if we could get him for double that, but dont think that will happen!

Cant see anyone paying £20m for Wanyama either

  3. Your valuation of the ‘deadwood’ is ridiculously high – you seriously expect a profit on Wanyama and Aurier, and only modest losses on the useless Janssen and N’Koudu? We’d be lucky to find buyers at any price for most of them, and even Eriksen’s big money move now looks doubtful, so I don’t think next season’s squad will be hugely different (let alone better) than it currently is. Why is the eternal crock Lamela spared, by the way? Woodworm is about the only thing he hasn’t had in his six wasted years at Spurs.

  4. Not for me. I think we can often overlook homegrown talents as the names are not so fancy, but splashing 60m on Maddison is just too much. He’s going to be world class, but his price is dramatically inflated because he is English.

    My dream summer would be:

    Out:
    Trippier – 30m
    Aurier – 25m
    Wanyama – 15m
    Eriksen – 80m
    Janssen – 10m
    Nkoudou – 5m
    Onomah – 5m
    Lamela – 30m

    Total – 200m

    In:
    Semedo – 30m
    Sessegnon – 25m
    Ndombele – 70m
    Lo Celso – 60m
    Bergwijn – 30m
    Tielemans – 45m

    Total – 260m Net spend – 60m

I would promote Whiteman, move Foyth to RB, Dier / Davies to play CB, KWP as cover on both sides. Sessegnon can play anywhere down the left, Ndombele, Sissoko, Tielemans and Winks can hold or play further forward, Lo Celso can play anywhere in midfield. Bergwijn is a winger that can play striker, as is Moura and Son. Play Alli behind Kane where he is at his best.

It’s a doable summer in terms of money but obviously in reality we will be lucky to get any of these players.

We would have enough homegrown players and the squad would be immensely strong compared to previous years.

The bench could be Gazzaniga, Foyth, Davies, Sissoko / Tielemans, Alli / Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Moura. We meed depth of quality. Our 11 is always strong, the bench is what needs improving.

  5. I am a spurs fan but i doubt we will get any of our top targets because of man utd’s new transfer strategy. They are looking at young players and mostly spurs targets because they can hijack all of our targets.Levy drags his feet offering 10 or 20m below asking price, man u can come in,out bid us and offer bigger wages, they don’t even need scouts. Its a good plan but not if u support spurs, they can’t lose. With the 4 or 5 players they hi-jack from of us,they could be in the top 4 instead of us.
