‘My intel is’ – Martin Tyler shares one thing he has heard about Conte at Spurs

Martin Tyler has claimed Antonio Conte is currently much happier at Tottenham, despite uncertainty surrounding the Italian coach’s future.

Conte led his Spurs side to a crucial three points on Tuesday as they ran out 3-0 winners over Arsenal in the North London derby.

The result has moved fifth-placed Tottenham within one point of the Gunners with two games to go, with the race to qualify for the Champions League still hanging in the balance.

While Conte has overseen a turnaround in N17 since his appointment in November, there has not been a guarantee that he will remain in charge next term, having recently been the subject of links with the Paris Saint-Germain job (Le Parisien).

However, Martin Tyler, who was part of the commentary team for Spurs’ victory against Arsenal, informed Gary Neville that he has been told the former Chelsea and Inter boss appears is happier with his role at Spurs than was once was.

Neville prompted on the Gary Neville Podcast: “What’s happening with Conte at the end of the season?”

Tyler said: “I think he’s liking it a bit more, my intel is that he’s a bit happier than he was, he looks happier doesn’t he?”

Neville added: “There aren’t going to be many clubs Conte is going to be able to go to. This is a great league at the moment with great managers, this is where you want to showcase yourself as a manager, and what he’s seen [on Thursday] was very special.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs should look to do all they can to convince Conte that the club is the right place for him and that can be done with adequate support this summer, regardless of what happens in the top four race.

They should look at what he’s done during his time at the club so far and recognise that he is here for success, but it is down to them to make it an appealing team to manage going forward.
