‘My main focus’ – Kalvin Phillips reacts to transfer speculation amidst Spurs links

Kalvin Phillips has insisted he is only focused on keeping Leeds United in the Premier League despite transfer speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham.

Phillips’ side have had a poor second season back in the English top flight and are currently sitting in the final relegation place on goal difference with three games remaining.

The 26-year-old is expected to be a wanted man if the Whites are succumbed to the Championship next term, with the Telegraph recently reporting that Tottenham hold a strong interest.

The report noted that Antonio Conte is a big admirer of Phillips, who is under contract at Elland Road until the summer of 2024 (Transfermarkt) and is keen on adding him to his midfield options.

But despite the rumours circulating about his future, the England international insists he is not thinking about anything else other than trying to preserve Leeds’ status in the Premier League.

Phillips told Sky Sports: “It doesn’t really bother me to be honest [speculation linking him with a move away].

“I’ve said from day one that I’m Leeds through and through, I want to be at Leeds and keep Leeds in the Premier League. So, that’s my main focus until the end of the season.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Obviously, it is a pretty hectic period for Leeds as they are desperately trying to avoid being relegated from the Premier League, which could allow them to keep their stars.

Phillips being one of their key players means he is leading the charge, so it is unsurprising that his attention is solely on the club’s performances right now.
