My predicted XI to start for Spurs against Villa on the first day of the season

Tottenham Hotspur are just a couple of weeks away from their first Premier League fixture of the 2019/20 season, in which they will surely be pressing for the title.

Spurs will host newly-promoted Aston Villa on the opening weekend, as they look to get off to a winning start on Saturday August 10 at 5:30 pm.

It is likely that the starting line-up in this opening fixture will come from the core group of players already at the club, as any potential new signings will need time to bed in.

I believe that Hugo Lloris will recover from his tonsillitis in time to retake his spot between the sticks against Villa.

Pochettino will opt for a back four of Ben Davies, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, and Kyle Walker-Peters, providing that the Welshman recovers in time.

I believe the midfield will consist of Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, and Moussa Sissoko, with Dele Alli further on.

Harry Kane and Lucas Moura will then partner up top, with Heung Min Son banned for the opening two matches of the season. Christian Eriksen drops to the bench.
