Naive or what?

Having just returned from WHL, i am still angry and disappointed with how our ‘so called’ manager is bringing our club down.

Not only are we intent on selling our ‘best’ midfielder and our ‘best’ defender, in today’s match against West Brom, Andres Villas-Byeout makes the mistake a 4 year old would’nt make. On 74 minutes, we score a goal that should push us onwards and upwards. However, what does AVB. He takes off our leading goalscorer and puts on a ‘holding’ midfielder. There was still 16 minutes to play – plus added time – and instead of trying to add another goal or two to help our goal difference, AVB decides to try and ‘hold on’ to what we got. Unfortunately, Spurs have never been a side that could defend a lead well, even the greatest side in our history – the 61 double winning side – continued to let goals in. the difference was that we always tried to score more than the opposition and not hang on to what we had. I was aghast at AVB’s decision.

Season after season, the so called ‘top clubs’ have a far far greater Goal Difference than we do. Surely that must be saying something. They might let in goals as well, but they all seem to try and go on and get 2, 3, 4 or more.

If this is what we are going to have to put up with all season – AVB just wanting to hold on to a 1-0 – then we all might as well throw our season tickets away. It just wont be worth all our efforts.

We are already 5 points off the pace, and we are only two games into the season. I said before the season started that i think we would finish in 7th place this season and nothing yet has made me change my mind – apart from if Liverpool do a bit better and we could finish 8th.

AVB said in the national papers today “It’s 4th place or i’ll be a flop”. I suggest he is a Flop already and the sooner he goes and we get a manager in who knows what he is doing the better. I know people say we should give him time, but We Dont Have Time. Time is not on our side. Levy got us into this problem by signing him in the first place, so all in all it might be better if they both go and we start again before it’s too late.
