Some Tottenham fans are worried that Harry Kane might be out of action for a sustained period of time after he was taken off at half-time against Liverpool.
The Tottenham striker soldiered on for the first-half despite clearly being in some discomfort but Jose Mourinho confirmed after the game that the England captain had no chance of continuing as he had tweaked both his ankles.
The Spurs boss did not say how long he expects the striker to be out for but he did suggest that a mild problem would not have been enough to force Kane to come off.
Some Spurs fans on social media admitted that they are not surprised to see Kane injure his ankle given the issues he has had over the last few years.
While some feared the worst, a few others are hopeful that the issue is not as serious as the injuries that the 27-year-old has picked up over the last few seasons.
😭 There are only a few things certain in life… death, taxes and Tottenham not being prepared for Harry Kane's annual injury…#THFC #COYS #TOTLIV pic.twitter.com/KzQ4EQyNZR

Unfortunately his ankles are now a chronic issue. Both injured multiple times and he’s missed significant parts of every season except his breakthrough one

Can take a 1-3 lose but can't take a kane's injury.
Hope it's not serious. 🤞

I don’t think Kane’s injuries will be anything serious. 2 weeks or for the Everton cup game is my prediction.
Bad news is we’re scheduled to play 3 league games in that time

Spurs Web Opinion
It does not appear as if Jose trusts Vinicius to lead the line given that he brought Lamela on and put Son up front in the second half. Given the way our system works with Kane dropping deep to allow Son and Bergwijn to run beyond him, I would not be surprised if we start Bale up front against Brighton and Chelsea.
