‘Needs a rest’ – Some Spurs fans react to journalist’s injury update

Some Spurs fans on social media are delighted to hear that Son Heung-min is expected to make a quick return from the injury he picked up during the North London derby but urged Jose Mourinho to hand the South Korean a rest against Aston Villa.

Son went down holding his hamstring with less than twenty minutes gone on the clock on Sunday and had to be replaced by Erik Lamela.

Jose Mourinho did not sound very optimistic about the forward’s injury after the game since it seemed to be a muscular issue.

However, Alasdair Gold revealed today that Son is expected to be back swiftly and could potentially even be fit for Tottenham’s trip to Villa Park on Sunday.

The journalist also added that Spurs face a dilemma on whether to allow him to join up with the South Korean squad for their international friendly against Japan next week.

Some Tottenham fans urged the club to allow Son to rest and recover until the clash against Newcastle after the international break.

It is great news that the injury is not as serious as initially feared but Son certainly deserves to have a rest given the amount of football he has played this season. Hopefully, a couple of weeks of rest will allow him to come back fresh and recapture the form he showed earlier in the season.
