‘Never an easy place to go to’ – Harry Redknapp predicts Fulham vs Spurs score

Harry Redknapp has said that Tottenham Hotspur will find things quite difficult at Craven Cottage but backed his former side to narrowly edge out Fulham.

The morale around the Spurs camp will be high after their 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa at Villa Park in what was arguably their biggest game of the season to date.

That result has meant that Ange Postecoglou’s men now have their fate in their own hands as they sit two points behind Villa with a game in hand.

While most would now acknowledge that Tottenham are now favourites to secure fourth position, failure to win at Craven Cottage will undo most of the good work the Lilywhites did in the West Midlands a week ago.

Harry Redknapp predicts a Tottenham win

Redknapp believes that the West London club will make it quite difficult for Spurs but backed the away side to overcome the Cottagers and emerge with all three points.

The 77-year-old told BetVictor: “Fulham lost away at Wolves last week, but I don’t think they deserved it. They had plenty of chances and on another day, they’d have scored two or three. This side are in decent form and this game won’t be easy for Tottenham.

“What a win that was for Spurs at Aston Villa and they completely deserved it. This side has really found its groove again and now have that fourth spot in their hands. Big Ange has done a superb job this season.

“I don’t think Spurs will go to the Cottage and cruise it, it’s never an easy place to go to. That being said, with the momentum this side has, I can’t see anything but a Spurs win. Precision: Fulham 1-2 Tottenham.”

When asked which player is the one to watch out for, Redknapp added: “I could have picked Son Heung-min but I’m going for James Maddison. He opened the scoring last week, got called up for England the other day and I can see him ending the week in style here.”

Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Spurs

This game is arguably just as big as the Villa game, particularly with the international break coming up. A loss will serve as a major blow and really turn on the pressure heading into the business end of the season while a win will give the players some breathing space in the race for fourth.
