‘Never bury a player’ – Pundit amazed by Spurs star’s ‘unbelievable’ transformation under Conte

Frank Leboeuf has lavished praise on Lucas Moura and admitted his disbelief at how well the Brazilian is now playing under Antonio Conte.

Moura has arguably been Tottenham’s standout attacker since Conte’s appointment, which is certainly no easy feat considering he plays alongside two world-class players in Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

While the 29-year-old has always had the ability to make things happen on the ball, his decision making has seemingly improved under the Italian and he has also managed to add goals to his game.

The former Paris Saint-Germain man has also been praised by Conte for his defensive contribution off the ball.

Following his brilliant performance in Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, in which he scored a goal and set up the other two, several pundits have started to take notice of Moura’s scintillating form.

Leboeuf has become the latest to sing the winger’s praises, admitting that the Spurs star is now playing as well as he did during his early days in Paris.

The former Chelsea defender told ESPN FC: “You see Lucas Moura playing, the guy is flying. The guy is doing back to what he was doing in his first year at Paris Saint-Germain.

“That’s unbelievable how psychologically a coach can change your football. Never bury a player before the end of his career because you never know what can happen during that time.

“Something can happen fantastically and that’s what is happening with Lucas Moura right now because he’s another player.”

Spurs Web Opinion

For the majority of Lucas’ career, people have tended to focus on his shortcomings like his decision making rather than his strengths.

That is partly because the Brazilian was seen as a potential world-beater as a youngster and has perhaps has not lived up to the promise.

However, he clearly possesses some fantastic attributes that make him a nightmare to play against. It is great to see that people are finally praising the 29-year-old for his strengths.
