Brennan Johnson has waxed lyrical about his compatriot Ben Davies, admitting that he has never seen the defender deliver a bad performance either for Wales or for Tottenham.
It is fair to say that Davies has never been the most popular player among Spurs fans despite now having been at the club for nearly a decade.
The Welshman may not be the sexiest of players but he is undoubtedly as solid and hardworking as they come, having demonstrated time and again over the years that he can be counted upon.

Ben Davies is Mr Reliable at Tottenham
The 29-year-old was asked to do a job at centre-back in a back four by Ange Postecoglou following Micky van de Ven’s injury and despite never having played the position before, Davies once again stepped up to the plate and turned in consistent, reliable displays.
Johnson, who has shared a dressing room with the Tottenham defender for a couple of years in the Dragons set-up, admitted that the former Swansea man’s character and adaptability set him apart.
The winger said on the Official Tottenham Hotspur Podcast: “He can adapt and come in when Micky got injured and Ben slotted in straight away.
“He was so solid especially in some tough games, it shows what he’s all about and his character, he can slot in at left-back and centre-back, and I’m with you. I’ve never seen him have a bad game.”
Spurs Web Opinion
After being grossly underappreciated as a player for many years by a section of the Spurs fan base, it does feel like things are now starting to turn a bit for Davies. I am delighted to see the love that the 29-year-old has been getting on social media for the past few months.
