Some Tottenham fans on social media have expressed their relief this morning after the club confirmed they had parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo and his coaching staff.
Nuno endured a tumultuous few months at the helm at Spurs after being appointed as the head coach during the summer.
The Portuguese coach was not a popular appointment when he arrived and Tottenham’s style of play this season did little to win the fans over.
Tottenham’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United on Saturday in front of a toxic atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium proved the final nail in the coffin for the 47-year-old.
Reacting to the news of Nuno’s sacking, several Spurs fans admitted that while they felt sorry for the former Wolves boss, the decision was inevitable following recent performances.
Many also pointed out that the club’s decision on who they now appoint will tell a lot about the Tottenham hierarchy’s ambition.

Nuno has been sacked by the Club. I do feel for him, seems a nice guy and all. Just not the right man for Spurs. #THFC https://t.co/i58AYhip45

Spurs Web Opinion
From having to deal with the Harry Kane saga in the summer, having been forced to implement a style of play that is at odds with philosophy, to trying to win over fans who had already made up their minds about him, Nuno was set up to fail at Spurs.
However, the 47-year-old always handled himself with class (unlike Jose Mourinho) and for that reason, I will always have huge respect for him.
