Dean Jones has reported that Harry Kane is optimistic of being able to win silverware at Tottenham following the appointment of Antonio Conte and hints the striker could even sign a new contract with the club.
Spurs made the decision to recruit the Italian tactician over a fortnight ago after relieving Nuno Espirito Santo of his duties amidst a poor run of form.
The 52-year-old will be the latest face in the Spurs dugout tasked with turning the club’s fortunes around, starting with bringing an end to a 13-year spell without a trophy.
One player who has made his intentions to win silverware known before is striker Kane, who was linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer.
However, transfer expert Jones claims the 28-year-old is looking forward to working under Conte in the club’s quest for glory, and has tipped the England captain to stay in North London for the long term.
Jones told The Done Deal Show: “I’m told that he’s [Kane] much more optimistic about [Antonio] Conte turning this team around.
“He feels that this is as good a chance as any of Tottenham getting a reboot and winning stuff under Conte, because he has a reputation of doing so.
“Right now, there’s no chance of Harry Kane leaving in January. All the signs say that he’s staying at Tottenham, he’ll probably even sign a new contract.”

The arrival of Conte does show that Spurs are looking to bring an end to their trophy drought and planning to fight back into the upper echelons of European football again.
Kane is someone who definitely needs silverware on his CV and, hopefully, Conte can be the man to get him and Spurs there.
