New development raises hope that Spurs defender could play against Wolves

Ben Davies has been named in the Wales squad for their upcoming European championship qualifiers, which perhaps suggests that the defender could be fit for Tottenham’s clash against Wolves.

Davies was handed his first Premier League start of the season at Selhurst Park two weeks ago but the left-back came off with an ankle knock at half-time.

The 29-year-old subsequently missed the London derby against Chelsea on Monday night and there has been no update regarding his fitness since.

Ange Postecoglou desperately needs the former Swansea man back for the trip to Wolves since Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero are both suspended for the clash after their red cards against the Blues while Micky van de Ven also picked up a hamstring injury in the game.

Tottenham receive Ben Davies injury boost

Rob Page has now named Davies in the Welsh squad for their upcoming clashes against Armenia and Turkey, which perhaps raises hope that the Tottenham defender would be fit to travel to Molineux Stadium.

It will be a big boost if Davies is passed fit for Saturday’s clash. I fully expect Ange to start the Welshman at centre-back alongside Eric Dier and play Emerson Royal at left-back.
