Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a late move for Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka, according to reports.

It is believed Mauricio Pochettino has spoken to Celta Vigo Sporting Director Felipe Miñambre regarding a possible move for the Slovak.

The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Spanish side from FC Nordsjaelland last summer for a fee of £900k.

Despite appearing in 38 La Liga games in his only season at Celta, Lobotka did not record a single goal or assist.

Only four days remain until this summer’s transfer window slams shut and Spurs now remain the only Premier League side not to have made a single signing.

A new central midfielder was on the wish-list of many Tottenham fans going into the transfer window.

However, with a matter of days left many will be happy to see just about anyone brought in.

Afterall it would be nigh on impossible for Daniel Levy to top panic buying Moussa Sissoko for £30m, right?

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Now we are going for a nobody (if we get him) Completely hopeless. Why not try to buy an OAP maybee we will buy something .

  2. As a Spurs supporter since 1958 the incompetence of our current management team never fails to stagger me.
They wait until a few days before transfer window closure to start panic buying. Jay Rodriguez?? Really?
Now this unknown from Celta Vigo with not exactly eye watering credentials. Mr Levy- do we not have enough
unsaleable dross on our books that we cannot offload?? Do we really need more?
Remember penny wise, pound foolish?? If we do not have a winning team your precious stadium will be half empty for most of the season cutting into your revenue estimates in a big way and taking even longer to get this project to pay for itself. By next Summer the player exodus will put us back five years and reduce us to maybe a mid level team at best. You are doing irreparable damage to our team by the failure to bring in quality recruits in a meaningful time. It has taken Moura six months before he is up to our required fitness level. Doubtful if we can make the CL without some new additions. WAKE UP……..
