New report claims that Spurs can sign Willian Jose for far cheaper than first thought

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in signing Real Sociedad centre-forward, Willian Jose, this month after Harry Kane picked up a nasty injury.

With the England captain not expected back in training until April, Spurs are without any like-for-like option up front for three months, with Lucas Moura filling the role for now.

Sports Carousel reported that Spurs were on the verge of agreeing a deal worth €50m for the 28-year-old striker this window. The Guardian claimed that the player has a £59m release clause.

However, a new report from the Telegraph claims that Spurs may be able to sign Jose for more than £40m less than this supposed release clause.

The report says that Real Sociedad would now accept a figure of just £18m from Spurs in January to sign Willian Jose. However, Spurs are said to prefer a loan deal to a permanent move for a forward this month.

Spurs Web Opinion:

At £18m, I would take any proven goalscoring striker at the moment. Spurs desperately need a focal point to their attacks.
