New signing linking up with Spurs this summer is a ‘top player’ – says Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has admitted that he is a fan of Lucas Bergvall, praising Tottenham for their acquisition of the Swede.

Spurs secured Bergvall’s services from Djurgardens in January and loaned the midfielder back out to the Swedish club for the remainder of the season.

There is certainly a lot of excitement at the North London club about the 18-year-old’s impending arrival and the teenager has continued to be a standout player for Djurgardens this season.

While the youngster faces a big challenge in adapting to life at Spurs, given the step up in quality from the Allsvenskan to the Premier League, Tottenham fans will be hoping that he goes on to fulfil his potential under the watchful eyes of Ange Postecoglou.

Fabrizio Romano thinks Lucas Bergvall is a top player

It has been widely reported over recent weeks that the midfielder will be handed a prominent first-team role at Hotspur Way next season rather than being sent out on loan (Football Insider).

Romano is certainly a fan of the Sweden international, with the journalist telling JD Football: “I think Tottenham made an excellent signing because that guy from Sweden Lucas Bergvall is a top player.”

Romano is saying this as he has clearly been made aware of various agents around the game just how highly sought after the young midfielder was.

While there is no doubt about the 18-year-old’s talent, Spurs fans need to be patient with him and accept that we might not see him feature much at all next season.
