New Spurs signing admits transfer was ‘done in 2 days’ after CL qualification

Ivan Perisic has admitted that his move to Tottenham Hotspur was verbally agreed just a couple of days after Antonio Conte’s men secured Champions League football.

Perisic could make his competitive debut in Spurs’ season opener against Southampton on Saturday, with the fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium desperate to get their first look at the Croat.

The 33-year-old has shown some glimpses of his class in the club’s last two pre-season friendlies against Rangers and Roma after recovering from an injury that he picked up towards the end of last season.

In an interview with Sky Sports (Football Daily), Perisic has admitted that he knew the Lilywhites would secure Champions League football after they thrashed Arsenal 3-0 in the North London derby back in May.
