New Spurs signing hoping to form good partnership with ‘amazing’ Kane

Dejan Kulusevski has admitted that he is excited at the prospect of linking up with Harry Kane and admitted that he has already been really impressed by the Tottenham striker.

After completing his move from Juventus on transfer deadline day, Kulusevski was handed his Spurs debut by Antonio Conte in the FA Cup fourth-round clash against Brighton on Saturday.

The Swede came on in the 68th minute for Lucas Moura and produced an impressive cameo to help the home side see off the win.

If not for some wasteful finishing by Steven Bergwijn, the 21-year-old would have marked his debut with an assist.

Kulusevski also combined well with Kane on a couple of occasions, setting up the England captain for a shot from the edge of the box which the striker failed to convert.

The new Tottenham signing spoke about how his former Juve boss Andrea Pirlo helped improve his game and admitted that he is looking forward to building an understanding with Kane.

Kulusevski told The Independent: “Pirlo is a fantastic coach and a fantastic guy.

“I spoke with him nearly every day and he always spoke to me a lot about how I should shape my body and how I can look for passes without showing the opposition where I am going to play the ball.”

“And that is exactly what I hope will help me to help Harry even more in the future.”

“He (Harry) is unbelievable. Yes, up there. What impressed me was his technique, the way he stopped the ball and the way he changes the whole pitch with his passes from both feet.

“It is amazing really. And I know that when he has the ball I have to run because he will find me.”

What impressed me the most about Kulusevski’s cameo against Brighton was his decision making. While the 21-year-old might not be rapid, he uses his pace and his strength quite well in one vs one situations and seems to have a natural understanding of when to release the ball.
