New Spurs signing sends message to fans on Twitter

Tottenham Hotspur may not have signed a senior player in the past 16 months, but they have already announced an addition to their academy this summer.

Notts County’s Kion Etete has officially joined Spurs, with HITC reporting that the London club have been looking at him for some time, inviting him for a trial back in March.

The young forward instantly impressed with two goals in a 5-3 win over arch rivals West Ham, enough to earn him a call back for another trial more recently.

Spurs announced their squad for the U19 Terborg Tournament in the Netherlands last week, and fans spotted that Etete was among the players.

Notts County then officially revealed that the 17-year-old had joined Spurs already this summer via their Twitter page.

Etete has now taken to Twitter himself to thank fans for all the kind words, and to promise that he would be working hard at his new club.
