‘Next few days’ – Tottenham-linked striker lifts the lid on his future

Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has admitted that he will sit down with his agent to discuss a potential move in the ‘next few days’.

Kalajdzic has just 12 months left on his contract with Stuttgart (Transfermarkt), and Tottenham are said to have an eye on the 24-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window (Kicker).

Bild reported last month that Borussia Dortmund also hold an interest in the striker, who they reportedly consider as a potential replacement for Manchester City-bound Erling Haaland.

The Athletic claimed this week that the Austrian international is also wanted by Bayern Munich while Benfica are eyeing the centre-forward as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez.

The report suggested that while Stuttgart have not given hope of tying the striker down to a new contract, the player is likely to leave the Mercedes-Benz Arena for a fee of around €25m (£21m).

Kalajdzic has now insisted that there is no concrete offer on the table for his services as of yet.

The Stuttgart star told Krone Zeitung: “In the next few days I will be in talks with Stuttgart and my advisor Sascha Empacher.

“The hot days are coming, not only because of the weather. There is nothing concrete on the table from Bayern or others.”

My gut feeling is that Kalajdzic will want to remain in the Bundesliga, and would thus end up at Dortmund or Bayern. I would certainly take the 24-year-old at Spurs as I believe he will be a useful backup to Kane.

He would also be a good ‘plan B’ to have on the bench when we are struggling to break down a low-block and need to adopt a more direct approach in some matches.
