‘Next level’ – Coady explains how Kane is different to some other strikers

Conor Coady has explained that what makes Harry Kane different to other strikers is the efficiency with which he finishes chances.

England get their World Cup campaign underway with a clash against Iran on November 21. The Three Lions will be hoping to build on their impressive showing in the last two major tournaments and go one step further this time around.

Kane took home the Golden Boot in Russia back in 2018 and the striker will have to be at his best in front of goal once again if Gareth Southgate’s men are to progress to the latter stages of the tournament in Qatar.

The Tottenham man is also chasing an individual milestone as he needs just three goals to overtake Wayne Rooney’s tally and become England’s all-time leading scorer.

Coady has praised the ruthlessness with which the England captain finishes off his chances in training, revealing that the 29-year-old is fully focused all the time.

The Everton defender told LADbible TV: “His (Kane) finishing in training is next level though, isn’t it?!

“With him, he could score five goals. Some strikers score five goals, then try to dink the next one. He never does that. He slaps it in the goal, no matter what. He is focused every time he gets a chance in front of goal.”

As good as Kane is dropping deep and playing others through on goal, his biggest strength is his finishing ability. That is why I believe that England will benefit from having the striker as close to the goal as possible rather than having to pick up the ball in England’s own half.
