‘Next week’ – Jose Mourinho provides positive update on Harry Kane injury

Jose Mourinho has provided a positive update on Harry Kane in his press conference today, stating that the centre-forward should be playing again as early as next week.

Kane was forced off against Liverpool last week after sustaining two separate knocks on either ankle in altercations with Thiago and Jordan Henderson.

Some reports claimed that Kane would be out for around two months, while recent quotes from Mourinho suggested that three weeks on the sidelines may be more realistic.

However, Mourinho treated Spurs fans to an even more positive update than that today, claiming that Kane should be back in time to face Man City or Everton.

The Spurs head coach even added that it would not be optimistic to make such a claim, indicating that Kane’s injury was not too serious at all.

The Lilywhites will be pleased to see their main man back as they suffered back-to-back defeats since he went off injured against the reigning champions last week.

Jose Mourinho said (Jonathan Veal): “It is not a very optimistic thing to say that next week he should be playing.”
