NFL pros warn City and Spurs of torn up pitch

Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City on Monday Night Football this week, but the fixture was never meant to fall on this day of the week.

The top of the table clash was originally scheduled to be on Sunday at Tottenham’s brand new stadium, however delays have forced a move to Wembley.

The national stadium is already in use tomorrow for an NFL game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Philadelphia Eagles.

This is the third game of American Football to be played at Wembley over the past few weeks, and the pitch is likely to be in extremely poor condition by Monday.

As two teams who enjoy passing the ball out from the back, it should be an interesting affair for Spurs and City.

NFL players have warned on the tough conditions following their game, stating that it will be very difficult for the Prem sides.

Josh Lambo told the Daily Mail: “It’ll be difficult for Pep Guardiola’s side to play their style of football [after the NFL game], the way that they want to play.

“I’ll certainly be changing my footwear, so I get the proper traction. I have a couple of different pairs of cleats for the right traction.”

DJ Chark added: “It might be challenging, definitely right after a game, with us guys tearing it up.”
