Thomas Frank has admitted that he is flattered to be mentioned as one of the contenders to take over at Tottenham Hotspur.
Frank has done an outstanding job since taking over at the Brentford Community Stadium, guiding the club to the top flight and establishing them as a force in the Premier League.
Some outlets have reported over the last couple of weeks that Frank is one of the names on Tottenham’s shortlist to replace Antonio Conte at the end of the season (The Athletic).
It has been suggested that the fact he has worked wonders at the West London club on such a small budget has particularly caught the eye of the Spurs hierarchy (The Guardian).
In fact, The Daily Star even reported earlier this week that the 49-year-old is part of a four-man shortlist that Tottenham have narrowed down their search to, with Julian Nagelsmann, Vincent Kompany and Arne Slot being the others on the list.
Frank has now admitted that it feels good to see his name linked with the top jobs but insisted that he remains happy at Brentford.
When asked about being linked with the Spurs job, the Bees boss told Danish publication Bold.dk: “I’m also just a human being, so, of course, it’s nice and flattering.
“But I have to focus on Brentford and I’m insanely happy to be here.
“I say that constantly to my staff and my players. Managers are being fired everywhere, so it is an indication that it’s not working. I really appreciate being at Brentford.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Despite what he says publicly, there is no doubt that Frank would be interested if Spurs contacted him.
However, I would be extremely surprised if the 49-year-old turns out to be the North London club’s top target ahead of some of the other names that have been mooted.
