‘Nice for him to do’ – Everton star reveals classy Richarlison gesture after Spurs move

Everton midfielder Tom Davies has claimed it was nice of Richarlison to return to Merseyside to say goodbye to his former teammates after he sealed a move to Tottenham this summer.

Richarlison has been the most expensive of Tottenham’s six summer additions so far, with the North London club agreeing on a fee with Everton which could rise to £60m including add-ons (Sky Sports).

The Brazilian has already demonstrated his work ethic as well as his versatility, having featured across Spurs’ front three in their pre-season friendlies so far.

The 25-year-old will be hoping to hit the ground running at Tottenham and lead Brazil’s frontline at the World Cup in Qatar this November.

It was reported by The Daily Mirror earlier this month that Richarlison had returned to Everton to say goodbye to the Toffees players and staff after completing a move to Spurs.

Davies has now confirmed that the striker did return to the club to say his farewell and admitted that it was a nice gesture from the new Spurs signing.

The Everton midfielder told Que Golazo!: “I wish Richarlison all the best in the future and I hope he goes on to great things.

“He’s a great player and he was a great teammate to have. He always worked hard, so I wish him all the best.

“Last year, we had a big connection throughout the squad and I think he wanted to come, check in with us all and not leave without saying bye because the squad that we have now is so close.

“We really are like one big unit and a big family, so that was nice for him to do.”

Spurs Web Opinion

For all the criticism that Richarlison has received for his attitude and antics on the pitch, it is clear that he is loved by all his former teammates as well as by Everton fans. So, I am confident that Spurs fans will take to the 25-year-old in a big way this season.
