‘Nice move’ – Moussa Sissoko reacts to ex-Tottenham man’s transfer this summer

Moussa Sissoko has claimed that Serge Aurier’s decision to sign for Villarreal is a ‘nice move’ for his former Tottenham Hotspur teammate.

Sissoko left Tottenham over the summer to complete a move to newly-promoted Watford in the summer after five years in North London.

Spurs also announced after the transfer window closed that they had reached an agreement with Serge Aurier to terminate his contract, which had 12 months left to run.

The club replaced the Ivorian with the capture of Emerson Royal from Barcelona, who has shown glimpses of his quality after a relatively shaky start.

Villarreal confirmed last week that they had snapped up the Ivory Coast international on a free transfer, with Aurier joining former Spurs teammate Juan Foyth at the Spanish club.

After completing his move to Villarreal, Aurier posted a classy farewell message on social media, insisting that he never even considered joining Tottenham’s local rivals, Arsenal.

The right-back’s message was received well by some Spurs fans on social media, many of whom wished him success on his new chapter.

Sissoko has now also given his seal of approval for his former teammate and friend’s move to Spain.

When asked about Aurier joining the Yellow Submarine, Sissoko responded on his Instagram story: ‘Nice move for him’.

I believe Aurier did not get the credit he deserved at times during his spell at Spurs. He is certainly a more talented player than he was perceived to be over the last few years and I would not be surprised if he shines at El Madrigal under Unai Emery.
