Niko happy to be off the mark

Niko Kranjcar is optimistic that he will continue to score for Tottenham after breaking his duck in only his second start for the club since joining from Portsmouth on deadline day.

Kranjcar benefitted from Peter Crouch’s knockdown to bag his first goal in Spurs colours, whilst fellow countryman Vedran Corluka, also achieved the same feat against Bolton.

He told the Spurs Official Website,”To be honest, I was never that satisfied with the amount of goals I scored at Portsmouth. Hopefully I can score more than that here.

“We know the strikers are going to score their goals because of the quality they have, but the midfield needs to chip in as well and we’ve been doing that.”

Spurs have registered 14 different goalscorers in all competitions this season, with all 10 outfield players that started against Bolton having registered on the scoreboard.

And Kranjcar also praised the efforts of the team for coming from behind twice in the match, in a match Spurs have struggled in for many years.

“It’s good we came back from being behind twice, but we came here to win and had the chances to do that.

“The start wasn’t the best and Bolton scored early, but we stuck at it, got the equaliser and then we had good chances at the end.”
