Some Spurs fans on social media are quite receptive to the idea of the club bringing in Juventus midfielder Emre Can this month.

A report in the Daily Mail on Wednesday claimed that Juventus have offered Tottenham the opportunity take the 26-year-old to North London.

Injuries to Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko had left Jose Mourinho short of midfield options until the club secured the services of Gedson Fernandes from Benfica on an initial 18-month loan agreement.

Can has been restricted to just eight appearances in the Serie A for the Italian champions this season (transfermarkt) and the Daily Mail claims that Juve are ready to move the German international on.

The report also claims that the former Liverpool midfielder has been offered to Arsenal and Chelsea with Manchester United already snubbing the opportunity to take him to Old Trafford.

A number of Spurs fans are keen to move ahead with a deal for the central midfielder by suggesting he would be an improvement on some of Mourinho’s current squad.

Can had a promising start to life at Juve but seems to have dropped off quite a bit recently. However, I believe that he could be a decent addition to the squad as he knows the Premier League well and his versatility will be a fantastic asset for Mourinho. However, I believe there are other positions we need to prioritise over central midfield this month.
