‘No concerns about Napoli’ – Journalist provides Dragusin to Spurs update

According to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, Tottenham Hotspur have ‘no concerns’ regarding Napoli’s interest in Radu Dragusin, and are continuing their own negotiations to sign the player from Genoa this month.

For weeks now, Radu Dragusin has been earmarked as one of Tottenham’s top targets as they look to reinforce the central defensive area (Telegraph).

With injuries to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, Spurs were hoping to acquire a new centre-back fairly quickly this month, but their pursuit of Dragusin has been a complicated one.

Despite Fabrizio Romano’s claims earlier this week that the transfer would be completed ‘very soon’ and that Dragusin himself had agreed personal terms, it is still unclear whether the Romanian will actually join Spurs at all.

Spurs confident of beating Napoli to Dragusin

The Lilywhites face competition from Italian side Napoli for the 21-year-old according to Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via Sport Witness), and Gianluca Di Marzio revealed the Serie A champions are not giving up on the signing despite Tottenham’s apparent advantage.

However, according to Michael Bridge for Sky Sports, Tottenham are not worried about Napoli’s advances and the North London club are proceeding as normal with their talks with Genoa to wrap up the deal.

Bridge wrote: “Tottenham have no concerns about Napoli’s interest in January target Radu Dragusin as talks continue with Genoa for the defender. Signing a centre-back remains a priority in the January transfer window for Spurs.

Bridge also added a little extra about Tottenham’s plans for the month, saying: “There are no other planned incomings this month as it stands, but that could change later in the month.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I think Spurs will be quietly confident of getting this deal over the line based on the fact that Dragusin himself has already agreed the personal terms and seems to prefer the move to the Premier League over staying in Italy.
