‘No dialogue’ – Journalist gives update on Tottenham’s pursuit of winger

PA Sport journalist Jonathan Veal has revealed there has been no dialogue between Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City regarding Championship sensation Keane Lewis-Potter.

Lewis-Potter shot into the limelight with his brilliant displays in League One last season and the Hull academy graduate has continued impressing in the Championship this campaign.

According to Hull Live, the 20-year-old’s performances have caught the eye of several Premier League clubs, including Spurs.

The publication revealed this week that Tottenham are preparing a big-money move for the winger before the transfer deadline, adding that the North London club are also prepared to loan the youngster back to Hull for the remainder of the season.

The report also claimed that the Tigers are unlikely to consider any offer less than £14m for Lewis-Potter.

Veal has now taken to social media to reveal that while the North Londoners do hold interest in the Hull starlet, they have not initiated contact with the Championship club so far.

The journalist also explained that the Tigers’ recent takeover by businessman Acun Ilicali (The Athletic) could also be a factor in Lewis-Potter’s potential sale.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Lewis-Potter is certainly very talented, £14m seems like quite a steep price for a youngster who is still unproven at the top level.

However, the Spurs hierarchy will remember that their hesitancy on moves for the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Eberechi Eze, when they were in the Championship, proved costly.
